Irresistible Mocha Frappuccino Recipe!

Mocha Frappuccino with Whipped Cream

It’s so easy to make your own mocha frappuccino at home and save some money!

I don’t usually have syrups here at home to use for sweetening, so instead I use vanilla extract to add to the flavor if I’m just making a mocha frappuccino, or I use real peanut butter for a simply divine peanut butter frappuccino! You can also use cinnamon, almond extract or any other kind of extract you may have on hand.

This is a great recipe to use as a base for any flavor mocha frappuccino you want to make. Here are a couple tips:

  • Use cold coffee! Hot coffee will melt the ice and make it thin. Then you’ll have to add more ice, then the flavor will be diluted and you’ll end up with too much, etc… Use cold coffee ;). You can make coffee ahead of time to keep in the fridge, or you can add a little cold milk to it and set it in the freezer for a bit to cool it off. Keeping cold coffee in the refrigerator is definitely a time saver though.
  • Make sure to blend for at least 30 seconds so you don’t end up with chunks of ice. If your blender isn’t that great, then you’ll want to blend longer.

Let’s get this coffee party started…

(There are a couple affiliate links to Amazon.com in the recipe, but they are both products that I use or have used and highly recommend. Plus they are a pretty decent price on Amazon if you can’t find them in a grocery store)

Serving Size

Mint Mocha Frappuccino

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup Half & half (you can use lower fat milk too if you want.)
  • 9 ice cubes or aprox. 1 & ¼ cup
  • 1 heaping tbls Powdered cocoa-Much better than Hersheys syrup!(you can omit the cocoa if you don‘t want a mocha frappuccino) Try Ghirardelli Chocolate Sweet Ground Chocolate. That's what I use and I really like it and you can find it at the grocery store usually.
  • Sugar (if using unsweetened cocoa) start with 3 tablespoons and go from there.
  • 2 oz or 6 pumps, Any flavored syrup if you want a flavored frappuccino or flavored mocha frappuccino. Or 1-2 teaspoons of Vanilla extract or some other flavor extract.
  • 1 or 2 oz Espresso shots, (or if you’re like me and don’t have an espresso maker, you can just use strong black coffee.)

Instructions

  1. Fill a 16oz cup with ice cubes just below the top of the cup and pour them into the blender.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, sugar and any flavored syrups you might be using.
  3. Pour in cooled espresso shots. You can either brew it ahead of time and cool it in the fridge, or mix fresh brewed espresso or coffee with some of the half and half and then an ice cube before pouring it over the ice in the blender.
  4. Next add the half n half or milk to the blender.
  5. Now blend for 30 seconds or until nice and smooth.
  6. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Great recipe idea and alterations. May I suggest adding a few whole coffee and cocoa beans before blending?

You didn’t specify, is the milk blended in the blender , or mixed in after blended?
